BRAD HERRING
Founder + Executive Producer + Editor
Brad Herring is an award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 2022, he founded Swift Creek Media to tell genuine stories rooted in empathy, curiosity, and dignity. His work includes creating clemency and mitigation films that reveal the complexity of people's lives and restore humanity to stories often reduced to case files and legal records.
In addition to his justice-focused work, Brad has produced films for NASA, science museums and universities across the United States, as well as chefs, farmers, and food producers throughout North Carolina. His first short documentary, Bite of Bénin, explored the intersection of cuisine, culture, and identity, earning multiple awards on the festival circuit.
Before becoming a full-time filmmaker, Brad served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Panama, where he developed a passion for storytelling and cultural exchange. After returning home, he spent 17 years with the National Informal Science Education Network, ultimately serving as Director of National STEM Networks, where he created professional development programs and multimedia content for museum professionals nationwide.
